Meet The Founder
In July 2011, Recreating Rays started as a side hustle in founder Shonna’s basement. (Yes, really.)
Armed with nothing but a spray gun, a dream, and a passion for helping women feel their best, she built a business that would eventually set the standard for what a tanning salon in Kansas City could be.
Fast forward to today, Recreating Rays is one of the most respected names in the sunless tanning industry nationwide—home to a powerhouse team of trained professionals, two thriving locations, and a mission that’s bigger than bronzing.
Shonna’s not just leading a salon—she’s reshaping the industry. But she’ll be the first to say: this level of success? It’s thanks to the incredible team of women who show up every day to serve clients with warmth, confidence, and that signature RR five-star service standard.
